Over 50 years of combined woodworking, construction, and handcrafted log building experience rooted in the mountains of Northwest Montana.
Northwest Log Homes is led by master builder Dwayne Keim, who began his construction career as a young Amish craftsman in 1992 framing both residential and commercial structures.
During his years in the West Kootenai community of Rexford, Montana, Dwayne became deeply inspired by the forgotten art of full-scribe and saddle-notched log construction.
After eight years of apprenticeship and hands-on building, Northwest Log Homes was founded in 2000 with one mission: build log homes of unmatched quality using traditional methods.
From the first design meeting to the final handcrafted finish, every project is built with integrity, trust, and personal accountability.
In addition to specialized handcrafted log work, our team performs much of the finished carpentry that many builders outsource.
From foundations and concrete work to spray foam insulation, Northwest Log Homes handles more in-house—reducing delays and controlling quality.
Plumbing, electrical, and excavation are completed by trusted local professionals with whom we’ve built strong relationships over decades.
Traditional techniques backed by decades of hands-on building experience.
Built on personal accountability, honest communication, and strong Montana partnerships.
Built for families who want a home designed to last for generations.
